 FILHAM PARK LAKE.

IS OUR LATEST ACQUISITION

The new lake at Filham park Ivybridge, is 2 acres in size construction started  August 2004 and is due to open probably late summer 2005. All the pegs on the lake have disabled access and are 2 meters square. The lake has been designed to give every peg a feature to fish to, be it an island or a bar or a gully. Depths average five feet but in some places reach twelve feet. This has been an exciting project for us as its not often that a club has a purpose built lake to its own specifications . Ivybridge council leased  us the land and helped pay for the landscaping and the top pathway while we financed the digging and lower pathways including the pegs and fish stocking. One of the conditions Ivybridge council stipulated in the lease was that the lake be open to anyone to fish so as well as being open to all club members to fish free, day tickets will be available to non members providing they have a valid EA license. The tickets will be sold from, Clives tackle and bait, Manadon Angling and Ivybridge information centre. The price of a day ticket will be around £5.00 and all revenue raised from these tickets will be the clubs. It is hoped  anyone who fishes on a day ticket will see the benefits of joining the club and gain access to all of the clubs waters and activities .
